Why do I need a Compliance Certificate?
The first thing would be the safety of the people using the pool and second would be the authorities.
As from 1 December 2019, all swimming pools and spas capable of containing water to a depth greater than 300 mm (30 cm) must have a compliant safety barrier to restrict access to the pool area by young children (under the age of five).
Small inflatable pool that requires no assembly other than inflation doesn’t require the certificate. Pools with just one & simple mechanism to build rather than multiple components.
How can I apply for the inspection ?
Well it’s simple to start with, You just need to register yourself with the local council. You must have a proof or statement of the date of building the pool.
if you don’t have the date then let the council decide and verify the date it was built.
Then after you have received the council statement you can hire yourself a pool inspector from the best pool inspection services in Victoria.
How to select the right Building Inspector?
By ensuring that the Building Inspector must have passed the mandatory below standards interview and exam to get a VBA license.
What to do after compliance assessment?
If your pool is compliant and the inspector gives you the compliance form 23 according to Victorian Board rules and regulations, then you can go and lodge it with the nearest council.
This process needs to be completed within 30 days, whereas failing to do so can result in re-inspection.
In case of non compliance our pool inspectors will guide you with the best possible adjustments you can do and once you have done it within 60 days, then re-inspection will be done.
The Inspector will check whether work has been and the pool is now compliant and if it is, then a certificate will be issued which can now be lodged with the nearest council within 30 days, to get the certificate.
If you fail to lodge the certificate to the council, you may be fined by the authority. The Victorian board authority also has provision to apply for doing minor other changes to the swimming pool after you are certified. You can always contact the pool Inspector and apply to the nearest council, for the changes in terms of building or construction of the pool.
So this is what your compliance certification journey would look like.
